WHAT IS TOTAL WELLNESS IN MY BEAM OF SIGHT?
This article is my first topic of choice and, it is the closest to my heart. I began my Nutritional journey when my mother develop diabetes II &, because my father developed so many food borne illnesses during the Vietnam War. Sadly, after being sent home by the Army ( MIA), he carried new food-borne illnesses unbeknownst to him after his the release. This life change is important! It makes no difference if the health issues involves stress, poor nutrition, or you've decided to take better care of yourself after a health scare. Total Wellness can ease you right back into the fever pitch of things and help you to enjoy life to its fullest. Sufficient health start from supporting your immune system (Scott, 2014). That's right, get your immune shots and practice prevention step but, you most also truly include dieting along with efficient exercise . Wellness is defined as a healthy circle of life developed by utilizing your knowledge of a proper diet matched with a physical exercise plan of at-least 30 minutes a day. This wonderful healing plan must also include protecting and nourishing the mind body & Soul , that's why this article's research is so important (Scott, 2014).

Food Safety and Sanitation is extremely important for not just your survival but, everyone's total health. Food is easy to cross contaminate if precautions are not taken. You also need to be sure that food is cooked correctly to be sure you do not get any illnesses from it. This article was written by the CDC, which is an agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The purpose of this article was to make consumers and food department aware of the Foodborne illness of Salmonella and a possible outbreak from egg shells. In the article, CDC reported gathered data on foodborne illnesses, investigate foodborne illnesses sources and outbreaks. CDC also monitored the effectiveness of prevention and control efforts. This articles covers prevention steps, recall information, laboratory testing, clinical features, Signs, and Symptoms (CDC, 2010) Prevention steps:
· Thoroughly cook foods, particularly meat, poultry, and gravies, to a safe internal temperature.
· Use a food thermometer

Many of us believe we will never be affected by a foodborne illness because we take all the safety precautions needed to prevent spreading germs. Some bacteria grow in oxygen-free environments and are called "anaerobic" An example of a common anaerobic foodborne bacteria is the Clostridium species, such as Clostiridium perfringens. Clostridium perfringens in appearance is a spore-forming gram-positive bacteria that can be seen with a microscope and it is found in many environments like inside human and animal. I chose this article because my company UPS on 1 Hog Island road, is directly next to large bodies of water and a nearby sewage plant in Philadelphia. UPS also hires its own cleaning staff. What we do not always realize is, most bacterial infections like Clostridium perfringens are too tiny to spot with a visual eye. Clostridium perfringens is found in the environment in locations such as soil, sediment, animals, and humans. The organism is also found in sewage and in areas prone to sewage contamination

Usually it’s the customer, such as myself, who determines a success-fulness of the recurring business. Most food service are considered to be a restaurants, pubs or any business that vends food to the over-all public. Subsequently the majority of foodborne illnesses are accredited to food service workers. This article cover the top contributing aspects are related to worker behavior and the importance of making improvements to the training food handlers, such as those who store, cook, cool and reheating, or serving. So make sure you implement adequate training, safety and monitoring procedures to keep your working environment as safe as possible. This article addresses why it is vital that food is prepared safely and healthy for the public to consume, in order to prevent food-borne illness/bacteria contamination. Failing to do so could lead to poor business, death, or being shut down by the health authorities. Food safety is a huge part of quality control and less food will be wasted due to spoilage or contamination when staff are properly trained (Emomentum, 2008).
